The Unique S Drive Batco has developed a unique and superior "S" drive system. The roller is lagged with chevron belting. By driving off the grip-side of the belt we are able to simulate gear action. This allows us to run the belt looser, thus making it easier on the bearings and providing longer belt life. We also lag the bottom end hopper roller to promote better belt tracking. |
Using the highest quality chevron 2 ply rubber belt available on the market. It is rated at 220 P.I.W. (pounds per inch width). It is designed to withstand harsh northern winters without cracking. Since the belt is driven off the grip side, belt slippage is eliminated. The belt is backed with a nylon slider to facilitate easy travel through the tube. The life of the belt is rated at 3000 hours, many times longer than auger flighting.
Several drive options are available; Electric, Gas, hydraulic and PTO. While a number of drive options are available one important consideration is constant... belt speed. The performance of both the conveyor and the transfer are dependent upon it.
Optimal belt speed for the transfer is 550-600 feet per minute. A Jack Shaft Kit is used with electric drives to ensure proper belt speed.
Horse power requirements are roughly half that of screw augers.
Hydraulic packages are also available for electric drive units that require installed hydraulics to operate the scissor lift system.

Transfer Conveyors
Batco make the Model 1314 Low Profile Transfer Conveyor for collection of grains etc. from under belly- discharge semi trailers. The 30"wide by 56" long collapsible hopper, 13" chevron belt in 10" tube is rated at 6000 bushels per hour.
