The Stirdon Grain Loop is a simple, effective and economical conveyor system, ideal for new grain installations or existing plant upgrades.
Efficient :- The simple chain conveyor system easily and efficiently moves large volumes of grain en-masse both horizontally and vertically, trailer to silo, silo to silo and silo to truck. It can easily be customised to your grain handling and storage situation.
Economical :- A cost effective installation compared to elevator leg systems with separate conveyors. The entire operation is powered with one drive motor. Grain handling damage is reduced and the system requires very low maintenance.
Versatile :- It can simply tie existing to new storage into an efficient grain handling system. It can unload bins simultaneously enabling blending, it is easily expandable and can service round or square silo installations as well as floor stores. A genuine all-round system.
Functional :- The Grain loop can be used as a horizontal conveyor to fill a double bank of silos from either a single truck unloading point or continuous grain drier. Systems can be designed for small or large installations.
Outputs :- There are two standard sizes, the 8 inch model can transport up to 110 tons per hour with a 350 fpm chain-speed and the 10 inch model transports 165 tons per hour with 325 fpm chain-speed. A 12 inch version is available to special order if over 200 tons per hour is required.
Horsepower required :- For every vertical foot of lift the 8" model requires 0.35 HP and the 10" model 0.5 HP. Additionally for every horizontal foot 0.08 HP and 0.11HP respectively.
The empty and approximate full weights per foot of the tubular conveyor are for the 8"model 12lbs. & 28lbs. and for the 10" model are 15lbs. & 40lbs.
