By means of using air sweep floor, new grain handling systems have been introduced. Thousands of  farmers have installed an air sweep floor system and several hundred installations are delivered from AKRON each year. The advantages with air sweep floor are obvious and as follows:

  1.     Bins and flat storage systems are easily planned.

  2.     The grain does not have contact with the floor. Absorption of rising ground dampness is thus prevented.

  3.     Maximum use of existing space is achieved.

  4.     Wet grain can be held while waiting for drying without turning. This is possible because of air ventilation facility.

  5.     Drying can take place directly in the bins, provided that storage height is adjusted to moisture content of grain.

   6.    Dried grain can be cooled without turning if stored in bins with air sweep floors.

  7.    Possible temperature increases are easy to detect by starting the aeration, and high temperatures reduced.

  8.    Peak load is easier to manage, even when drying capacity is under dimensioned.

  9.    Drying and storage capacity can be used 100 percent.

  10   Compared to self emptying lateral systems this energy saving method is more efficient and all the air is distributed evenly through the grain.

  11.  The capital investment cost when using an Air Sweep drying and emptying system is often lower than when using other methods.

  12.   Considering all the above mentioned advantages, installations with air sweep floor will give better economy of storing and drying grain.
