Wall Sheets. Wall Sheets for the bins are manufactured from hot galvanised steel sheets which are corrugated so that maximum rigidity is obtained Accurate processes on the production line ensures a tight fit and easy erection Depending on wall element length, and to what total height bins will have to be, different sheet thicknesses have to be selected.

Corner Posts. Corner posts are available in five designs according to the illustrations On each corner post there 5 strong flange welded for joining the post to the wall sheet in vertical direction

Type 2 A s used for corners

Type 3 V and 3 H where dividing walls are jointed to an outer wall.

Type 4 where four walls are jointed together.

Type 2 B is used where you want to make larger bins and replace wall sheets with tie rods.

The posts are available as standard painted or hot dipped galvanised. Apart from standard posts above, there are a number of posts for special purposes, for instance, when hoppers are fitted.

  Tie Rods. By using tie rods, larger bins can be constructed. This is done by replacing wall sheets with tie rods. They are delivered in corresponding lengths to the wall sheets.

  Washers for dividing walls. At dividing walls, large washers must be fitted They support the wall, should pressure appear from “wrong” direction.

  Leg Stands. If the bin is to be fitted with air sweep mesh, it is required that the lower section is elevated to the level of the air sweep framework. Legs to fit under the corner-posts are available in various lengths in order to suit the air sweep floor They are delivered either painted or galvanised.

  Bolts and Nuts. To join corner posts and wall sheets, flanged bolts M8 and nuts galvanised, are used No washers are necessary because of the flanged nuts. This gives easier erection.

  Hoppers eg. buffer silos for dryers and mills self emptying hoppers can be fitted to the storage bins The hoppers are as standard delivered in sizes according to the wall element lengths The hoppers are made from steel sheets strengthened by steel profiles They are delivered painted.

  Other details. When the whole storage plant is to be erected and especially where AKRON storage bins are used as frame of the building, special parts are needed as anchor plates, brackets for fitting of outer wall sheets to the posts etc.

  A range of such parts are stocked at AKRON and new parts are added, which simplifies erection and building.

  For inspection and cleaning you must have ease of access into the bins. Therefore access doors or ladder irons are available.
